How to reach Mikumi National Park by road, by train, or by air, By road the park can be accessed from Dar-es-salaam, this is the most efficient way of reaching the conservation area passing through amazing small villages, towns, and right in the middle of the park, it takes approximately 4-5 hours’ drive to the park, drives can be done privately using a ground handling tour operator vehicles to use are typically safari cars, for example, tour vans, land cruisers, or super customs, alternatively, travellers have the chance to take public means a bus from the city as the main road passes near the park entrance points. en route on a clear day, it is possible to view clear views of the surrounding mountains like the Udzungu Mountains.

Mikumi National Park can be visited all year round but best during the dry season between the months of December to February to June –September, it is the best time to do tourism activities in the national park when the grasses are shorter and easier to see wildlife and the trails less slippery.
