Rwanda is an amazing destination in East Central Africa commonly referred to as “the land of many hills”, the winding nature of the hilly landscape of the country is undeniably the most beautiful place that will impress you at first sight, the angelic city of Kigali has been rated as East Africa’s cleanest and safest towns for travels, Rwanda also ranks top destination for gorillas and wildlife safaris in the 4 major conservation areas. Rwanda is bordered by Uganda to the north, Tanzania to the east, Burundi to the west, and the democratic republic of Congo to the west, it is strategically placed along the African Great Lakes region, volcanoes and gentle hills running the country. The northern part of the country protects a variety of species in the Volcanoes National Park notably the Mountain gorillas, the gentle giants are the theme of visit for many travellers to the destination.

Rwanda is known for the Mountain gorillas a subspecies of the eastern gorilla beringei living in the Volcanoes National Park north of the country, the conservation area protects the great Virunga volcanic region hosting 5 of the 8 series mountains that make up the Virunga Biodiverse ecosystem , its endangered species not only is the mountain gorilla but also the golden monkey s which are endemics of the park other primates are found in the Nyungwe forest national park it is a primate destination of Rwanda said to have survived from the ice age era, it is famous of the Chimpanzee and the canopy walk which can only be done here in the whole of East Africa, the suspended bridge in the tropical rain forest offers a phenomenal experience, while the savannah species including the so-called big five of the wilderness(Rhinos, African elephants, African Buffaloes, leopards and lions) are found within the Akagera national park, the many lakes and rivers of the park are hard to miss more so when you will enjoy a boat cruise along Lake Ihema.

Rwanda experiences 2 seasons climatic seasons the dry and the wet seasons, the most popular time to visit Rwanda is during the dry season between the months of June-September and December –Februaryexpect warm favourableconditions in all the conservation areas, the roads are drier which makes it easier for them to be accessed, while the wet season, on the other hand, is also ok to visit in November, March, April, October, despite having rains which make it hard for road transportation to be used and hikes through the trails of the conservation areas hard to pass through.

Accessing Rwanda requires you to have a valid entry request, the list includes a Rwanda visa, for people coming into the country for travel purposes it is advisable to apply for the East African visa which can be used in Uganda and Kenya as well asto be issued a Rwanda Visa here are the items you need to have as a must, a valid passport copy of at least 6 months to the month of expiry, yellow fever vaccination card, passport size photographs, confirmation tour plan from your operator,  the main entry point is the Kigali international airport situated about 6 miles away from the city.
