Tanzania is one of East Africa’s great destinations popular for a variety of wilderness areas, these are unique from one another ranging from open grassland areas to forests and mountains. The country is bordered by the Indian Ocean, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi and Zambia, it is the largest of the East African countries with a  fusion of mixed races of people, the capital city of the country used to be Dar-es-salaam until it was moved to Dodoma. The official languages spoken in the country are Swahili and English, towards Zanzibar Arabic is widely spoken. The beautiful country is renowned for the great wildebeest migration in the Serengeti National Park, this rapid movement of millions of animals is a thrilling experience, and this has been named among the 7 Wonders of the World.

Beautiful Tanzania boasts world large lakes, for example, Lake Victoria is shared by Uganda and Kenya, and Lake Tanganyika, is the world’s longest freshwater lake while Victoria is the largest, the Ngorongoro conservation area in northern Tanzania is the world’s largest Caldera is said to a mountain worth the size of the Kilimanjaro sunk on its weight, the Mountain Kilimanjaro, and the Lake Natron are unique identifiers of the great destination, its combined attractions make Tanzania stand out compared to other destinations of East Africa.

Tanzania is home to abundant wildlife species, which are dotted in several ecosystems, most of the land area initially was a savannah grassland but with global and climatic change some of this land area is semi-desert in the present day, some of the most well-known animal species of found in the biodiverse environments include large herds of African elephants, buffaloes, Black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, chimpanzees, giant turtles along the coast, zebras, gazelles to mention a few, there are more than 1000 species of birds recorded in Tanzania, most of these are found within the park some of which are endemics to destinations.  The Serengeti National Park is the most visited of all due to its high concentration of animal species and the great wildebeest migration.

Tanzania is a place of history and culture, in 1964 following independence, it was merged with Zanzibar, a coastal island along the Indian Ocean, this is one of the most angelic places of Tanzania, its major town is Stone Town, it is made up of small other islands of Pemba, and Mafia islands. Zanzibar used to be a slave trade point, however following civilization, there is no more slavery rather than enjoying the vast activities along the island popular things to do in Zanzibar include snorkelling, swimming with the dolphins, enjoying the sandy beaches of  Zanzibar.

The people of Tanzania present unique cultures, customs and traditions for example the Masaai people living in the northern part of Tanzania are the most known people presenting their beautiful culture to travellers who visit the Serengeti National Park or the Ngorongoro conservation area.

Tanzania can be visited all year round depending on what guest preferences are, the best time to visit for tourism purposes is during the dry season between December- February and June- September when the trails of the national park are dry and easy to access. To access Tanzania, you will be required to have a valid passport ofat least 6 months to an expiry date, a visa, a yellow fever vaccination card and a confirmed tour plan.

In conclusion, Tanzania is a developing country, it is one of the oldest places inhabited by the human race, and there are traces of remains of fossils of humans and hominids in the Olduvai Gorge, these are said to date back to 19,000 years ago.
