Mikumi National Park is one of the tourism hot spots of Tanzania, it was gazette in 1964 and is the fourth largest national park of Tanzania straddling the southern part at the border with Selous Game Reserve one of the biggest game reserves of Africa, the park is strategically placed between the mountains of Ulguru and Uduzungwa which can be sighted on a visit to the ecosystem, it covers an area space of approximately 3230 square kilometres within which are the greatest physical features form the topography to the wildlife of the park, it is often compared to the famous Serengeti national park because of how much you can see while in the national park.

Accommodation in Mikumi National Park is abundant ranging from the best budget to luxury facilities, these offer places to stay to travellers, facilities include Stanley’s Kopje camp which is the only Kopje camp in Tanzania placed on a rock overlooking the Mkata flood plains, it gives 360 views of the surrounding environment, placed with 12 exclusive intimate rooms, these are pitched on standing platforms, roofed with thatched spear grasses obtained from local materials. Mikumi Wildlife Camp is open to guests all year round, it is a well-established camp in the national park also referred to as Kikoboga it is a small angelic lodge built from local materials, and the rooms are family-friendly offering accommodation to up to 4 guests in one room, it has 9 suites surrounded by water holes for animals, along this wildlife,come to drink clean water which can be sighted directly at the lodge.  The restaurant serves a wide range of food cuisines from Tanzanian food to international food types. Children are more than welcome to the lodge, they also offer babysitting services.

Mikumi Safari Lodge is located a few kilometres from the main gate of Mikumi National Park, it is a midrange facility consisting of 8 cottages, and they have been built to perfectly fit within the environment they are built, each cottage is raised with a balcony and the rooms featuring an ensuite bathroom, the lodge restaurant serves both local and international meals to travellers to the destination.
