Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a magnificent conservation area most sought among Uganda’s protected areas, it is popular for the mountain gorillas a subspecies of the eastern gorilla -gorilla Beringei the park grows an Afromontane forest comprising many species of trees, climbing plants, and undergrowth of ferns growing in marshy swampy areas, it was gazette in 1993 as a way of protecting mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, butterflies and birds that call this home. The park boundaries are well demarcated from the community by farmlands of the Bakiga, Bakonjo, and Batwa the misty forest is divided into Sectors (Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma, and Ruhija).

Mountain gorillas are the main residents of the park, they live in the forest sectors amicably without being captivated, and their families comprise upto 20 members led by a male silverback with growing silver fur on their backs,  the species has reproduces slowly hence is a threatened species to the world, females give birth to one baby and it is at rare circumstances that they give birth to twins other species of the park include mountain duikers, forest elephants, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, white-cheeked monkeys, and over 300birds that have been recorded here to date. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can be visited all year round each season differs from the other according to travelers’ choice of time of visit, the seasons vary from time to time but all year round it is always cold.

The best time to visit Bwindi impenetrable national park is during the country’s dry season between December -and January and June -early September the months of June -August are mostly dry and generally warm, these are regarded as the best tourism seasons, the trails of the forest are dry and easier to access the forest, the well-distributed trails take you to explore and experience the impenetrable park, gorilla permits during this time need to be booked on time to avoid the inconvenience of missing out, it should, however, be noted that due to global climatic changes, the weather keeps changing and hence some of the dry seasons can experience rainfall. The wet season is equally amazing to visiting Bwindi impenetrable national park, this is the time of discounts from the authorities and lodges, if you are not interested in not so many people and crowds during your experience then this time would work best keeping in mind that the forest is wet mostly. Bwindi impenetrable national park can be accessed through Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport, and ground or domestic air transfers can be arranged to the destination, it takes approximately 9 hours to drive to Bwindi, and flights can be arranged on schedule or Charter.  It is important to pack right while considering your gorilla safari, must-have items include proper hiking waterproof boots, warm clothes, gaiters, hand gloves, insect repellants, and any other items of a personal nature.
