Tanzania is an angelic country in East Africa, it stands out as the largest country in the region stretching with several national conservation areas. The country is famous for the great wildebeest migration in the Serengeti National Park, there are millions of animals including wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, together with their predators that roam the wilderness running from Serengeti to Masai Mara and Vise versa. Visiting Tanzania can be done all year round it depends on your interest of choice as to what you will be doing in the country, each season is beautiful in its way but there are months of the year that are more convenient than others.

Tanzania experiences seasons determined by climatic changes and global conditions, the dry long seasons last from the months of June, July, August, September, and October, and short dry seasons happen in the months of December, January, and February. The long rains happen in the months of March, April, and May, due to changes in weather conditions it is hard to predict when the rains come, however, it is usually fine and ok to visit the country any time of the year as each one of these presents something unique and different from the other. Temperatures are consistent all year due to its closeness to the equator.

The best time to visit Tanzania depends on what wildlife and activities you would like to see, June to August is the best time to see wildlife, it is the time when wildebeests cross the river Mara into the Serengeti National Park in the most dramatic way, the run in the wild is super interesting as the animals cross from one point to another, it is a beautiful experience of Tanzania. It is a great time to enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar island, take a trek in the Gombe Stream and Mahale Mountains National Parks, and hike Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro. Late October is best to visit the Tarangire National Park, its lush green growing baobab trees, sausage trees, sprouting savannah grassland and the stunning huge herds of African elephants are incredibly beautiful to experience.

During the dry months of Tanzania, the ecosystems have less stagnant water for mosquito breeding which brings down the levels of Malaria infections, the trails are more accessible depending on the harsh terrain of the African wilderness, the downside of the best time to visit Tanzania is that it comes with high tour costs and accommodation facilities tend to increase their prices, there are higher tourism numbers during this time. The wet season, on the other hand, attracts few travellers, and it is the best time to go birding in Tanzanian National Park, the conservation areas receive migratory species during this time. Accommodation facilities have a low cut on accommodation rates in favour of agents that sell their properties.

In conclusion, Tanzania can be visited any time of the year depending on what guests are coming to do in the country, it is best experienced during the dry season.
