Serengeti National Park is undeniably one of the most amazing destinations in Africa, it is most sought after when it comes to large wildlife numbers, the park is Tanzania’s oldest and largest national park covering an area space of approximately 14,750 square kilometers, the park is angelically placed along the country’s border with Kenya to the north it is named in the Masaai language to simply mean “endless plains”, Serengeti National Park is known to have the highest concentration of lions in the whole of East Africa, it was as a recognized UNESCO world heritage site by 1981 as a way of protecting the vast animal species that call this home.

The Seronera Valley is one of the best places in the national park to see wildlife in the national park, it is situated in the southwestern part of the central Serengeti, and the valley is rich in lions, leopards, and cheetahs, which are sighted in the varied ecosystem including rock kopjes, rivers and marshy swampy areas, other species of the this place include African elephants, African buffaloes, waterbucks, impalas, bat-eared foes, side striped hyenas, jackals, reedbucks, hippos, giraffes to mention a few, it is an excellent place to see wildlife all year round with a constant water supply from the river Seronera.
Game viewing in the central Serengeti is best during the dry season between the months of June-November, there are so many concentrated wildlife species in the region with significant migratory species, in the wet season these migratory species leave the plains to a new location, game drives are conducted through the well-distributed trails of the ecosystem, the set back of the Seronera Valley is that there is a high concentration of Lodge facilities in this area, hence high numbers of travellers during the game drives.
