Mountain gorillas of Rwanda are found within the Volcanoes National Park. it is strategically located in the northern part of the country and home to endemics of the Virunga volcanic mountains ecosystem, within the park are 5 volcanic features believed to be dormant volcanoes these include, Mountain Karisimbi, Mountain Muhabura,Mountain Gahinga a d Mountain Sabinyo, along the slopes of the mountains is an altitudinal vegetation cover growing from the farmlands of the communities into the bamboo forest, heath and moorlands, these act as home to wildlife of the forest mostly the Golden monkeys and the mountain gorillas.

Mountain gorillas live within the national park amicably together with other forest creatures freely without being capitated. They live in families of up to 30 members led by a male silverback, the primates are characterized by their large fur bodies, long forelimbs, gentleness, and brown eyes, they are herbivores who do not commonly drink water, however, the food they eat is succulent enough for them to have enough water supply this includes leaves, stems, dead tree backs, fruits, mushrooms and occasionally insects. They do not commonly feed in one location but rather migrate to allow food to grow where they have already eaten. They are also termed as the world’s largest primates amongst all other species.

Exclusive gorilla trekking takes place beginning at the park headquarters with a briefing from the park rangers, they will tell you about the forest at large, and how to conduct yourself while with the primates, in a group on this exclusive safari, it will be just a particular team tracking the primates or a solo individual for a whole group of a gorilla family.
