Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of the few places in the world to find the critically endangered mountain gorilla species. It has over the years attracted many travelers who come to Uganda interested in Primates more so an Uganda gorilla safari, coming face to face with the gentle brown-eyed species is magical. They live within the forest together with other creatures amicably, the park was gazette as a way of protecting wildlife that calls this home, it is managed by the Uganda wildlife authority and among the few UNESCO world heritage sites of Uganda.

How to reach Bwindi impenetrable national park all begins with a thought of how to first get into the country, Uganda has one main international entry point the Entebbe International Airport located in Entebbe City, while at the airport you are required to have a tourist visa allowing you into Uganda, a yellow fever vaccination card, passport, travel plan from your tour operator, and sometimes money on your bank account the same is required at the land borders surrounding the country. It is then from here that you will begin your Bwindi Safari the Impenetrable national park is situated in the southwestern corner straddling along borders with Rwanda. The thick forest is phenomenal and adventurous to explore, many primate lovers have experienced the park at large over the years.

Bwindi impenetrable national park can be accessed by road from Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport, From Entebbe it takes approximately 9 hours to arrive at the destination passing through beautiful rolling hills, landscapes, banana and tea plantations, drives are done using safari land cruisers, drones, super customs it being a long journey sometimes there are stopovers in specific time towns for lunch. Drive access from Kigali International Airport takes 6 hours’ drive to Bwindi via the Cyanika border.  Flights can be arranged from local domestic air transfers to Kisoro or Kihihi airstrips. Kisoro landing mainly supports the southern Bwindi those who are tracking Rushaga, Nkuringo while the Kihihi airstrips are ideal for the Buhoma sector, and the Ruhija sector, scheduled flights operate daily in the morning time between 6:30 am -8:30 am east African time, flights take 2hour 30minutes to land. After which a ground transfer is done to the respective locations and lodges.

Gorilla trekking is the major activity of Bwindi impenetrable national park it is done beginning in the morning at 8 am in groups of 8 per gorilla family, gorillas know no boundaries, they keep moving from one place to another within the park, the activity is strictly allowed to individuals above the age of 15 years old as per Uganda wildlife authority tariff. The Batwa community experience is an amazing way to interact with settlers of the region. They are a group of the last short-structured people in Uganda who used to live in the forest, however, due to conservation purposes they were evicted from the forest and continued living around the surrounding areas they dwell in the forest and are its keeper, they entertain travelers through their traditional songs and show them how they used to live while in the forest. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can be visited all year round but is best during the dry season.
