How to access Uganda is the first thing one thinks of when considering their journey to the destination, it is referred to as the Republic of Uganda but is also commonly known as the Pearl of Africa, it does not take time to realize why it is called so, the winding hills, green forests, hospitable people with unique cultures, wildlife all put together is magical, the warming environment is a hot spot for many travelers with its highlight of primates, for example, the mountain gorillas in the western part of the country. It is land bordered by Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tanzania.

Uganda can be accessed through its international borders which tend to be open 24/7, the very best way is by flying to its Entebbe International Airport which is situated near Entebbe city a few kilometers from the capital city of Kampalait is the largest airport of the country where every person flying in different capacities arrives, most of the flights handled here are connecting flights through regional airlines like Air Rwanda, Kenya airways to mention a few.There are domestic handler companies that assist in flying around most destinations, the likes of Aerolink Uganda and Fly Uganda. Most of the conservation areas can be reached by road however the very far distant ones like the Kidepo Valley National Park require a flight, scheduled flights can be arranged or charter through your ground handler.

How to access Uganda by road is entry and exit through its immigration exit points surrounding the borders, these include the southwestern part exit to Rwanda at the Kagitumba, Gatuna, and Kyanika border, the Kenyan side along the Suam border in Bukwo district, Malaba and Busia, Mutukula entry point to the south in Tanzania, Bwera in the democratic republic of Congo, water entry points are through the ports along the southern shores of Lake Victoria. Ugandan land borders are normally flexible provided you have all the requirements needed to cross into the country

Accessing Uganda requires you to have mandatory immigration requirements to be granted a Uganda visa, these include a valid passport with at least 6 months to expiry, a yellow fever vaccination card, a return air ticket, an itinerary to the destination, money to use while here, it is important to consider exchanging money at the airport as much as facilities allow use of dollars as currency, many service providers would prefer to have the Ugandan shilling for purchase.  At any entry point, you will be required to show confirmation for your visa payment, a single entry is $50, and an East African Visa is $100 which is recommended for travel more so if you are visiting more than one state of East Africa that is to say Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.
