Seronera airstrip is one of the major airstrips of the Serengeti National Park, it is located in the central part of the park in the Seronera Valley. The most comfortable way of getting to the home of large cats is by flying from major airports, most of the flights begin from the Kilimanjaro International Airport to airstrips of Serengeti National Park for example the Seronera airstrip, Kogatende, Lamai and Grumeti Airstrip. There are domestic flight handlers who operate flights daily to the national park, these can be scheduled or charter flight transfers depending on the guest’s preference. The Seronera airstrip is the 6th largest airstrip in Tanzania, routings are operated by Coastal Air, Grumeti Air or Auric Air.

Seronera Airstrip is the largest airstrip in the national park and is the most used, the highest concentration of accommodation facilities is in the Seronera Valley and hence many people use the airstrip, guest connect easily from the Kilimanjaro International Airport from which international flights like KLM, Quarter airways to mention a few lands at the airport, it is from here that guests connect to the Serengeti, flights last for an hour over the countryside of Tanzania,  the airstrip boasts an airport building that is mainly used as a lobby and a welcoming point for travellers. Seronera airstrip is busy at most during the dry season between the months of December December and June – November when the park is busy too, it is referred to as a tourism peak season when most travellers come into the conservation area, the highlight of travel in some of these months is the great wildebeest migration, there are millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles running in the wild crossing from southern Kenya through the north of Tanzania to the Serengeti national park, the stamp and animal run is one of the most thrilling experiences in the world like no other, it has been named among the 7 wonders of the world.

Besides the Seronera airstrip, there are several other airstrips including the Kogatende airstrip located along the banks of the river Mara, it is an easy and remote corner of Serengeti National Park to access, mostly during the wildebeest migration. The Serengeti Kusini airstrip is one of the most used airstrips of the park, the Lobo airstrip will connect you to the northern part of Tanzania, it is perfectly situated in the Lobo valley, and the Sasakwa Grumeti airstrip borders the western side of the large national park among other airstrips.

In conclusion, the Seronera airstrip is the largest of all the airstrips of the Serengeti National Park, it is important to book flights to land at the airstrip where your accommodation has been booked for easy access.
