The contrast of Queen Elizabeth National Park is phenomenal to experience, the national park is situated in the western part of Uganda, it is the second largest conservation area after Murchison Falls National Park, the biodiverse ecosystems boats crater lakes, savannah grassy lands, forest, Lakes,Wildlife,Gorges, and numerous rivers. The park was initially named Kazinga National Park in 1952 but was later renamed after the visit of Queen Elizabeth the second of England to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The presence of many attractions in the national park presents an opportunity to engage in epic activities. The park is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Tourist activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park are angelic to be part of, the insight of the park is undeniably the most amazing thing you can see on a Uganda safari many travelers have enjoyed the national park because of its fusion of attractions including the Kyambura gorge, Katwe crater lakes region,Mweya peninsular, Kasenyi plains, the Kazinga channel, the wildlife of the national park is an incredible count, there are 95 mammal species like the African elephants, African buffaloes, leopards, tree climbing lions, lions, sitatunga, waterbucks, bushbucks, of the park and over 600 bird species some of which are endemics of the great Albertine rift valley region.

Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park are conducted through the well-distributed game tracks in the park, they are done in sessions in the early morning, afternoon, and evening time, these happen mostly in the Kasenyi plains and the Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions, expect to see Lions, leopards, African Buffaloes, elephants,water bucks, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, bush bucks, oribi, hippos , topi, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, to mention a few, the drives take 2-3 hours on open roof cars for animal viewing and perfect picture moments. The best game drives are done in the morning it is the busiest time of the wilderness animals tend to come out to graze while others like the cat family look to hunt. Night game drives are conducted in search of nocturnal species of the park, more so leopards and lions.

Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura forest, the gorge is a lovely place of  national park, it can easily be missed due to its hidden nature, this is among the most wild regions to the north of Queen Elizabeth national park, the chimpanzee seem to be trapped amidst the forest, there are habituated families that are tracked by travelers, these have been proven to share most of the human DNA, in the forest trails you will be able to meet man’s closet relatives.

Boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, the natural long stream of water joins the 2 twin rift valley lakes of Edward and George, the cruise is mostly done in the afternoon,  during the experience one gets a chance to enjoy the view of vast animals like hippos, African elephants, spotted hyenas, lions, waterbucks, crocodiles, it is no secret that there are so many birds of the park plus water birds for example African martial eagles, king fishers and pelicans.

Queen Elizabeth national park is a perfect destination to go birding, it is one of Uganda’s top birding destinations, over 600 species of have been recorded here, the adventurous bird watcher would have this an ideal destination because of the many birds of the park like the flamingos, grey crowned , handsome francolin, saddle billed stork, martial eagle, Abyssinian ground horn bill, standard night jar, grey head kingfisher, great blue turaco, sunbirds, pin tailed whydah, African emerald cuckoo, African broadbill, African wattled eagle, black headed gonolex among others.
