Serengeti National Park is an undeniably beautiful destination of Africa, it features a growing vast grassland that seems to be continuous, The park name Serengeti simply means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, the Masai people are the original inhabitants living in the surrounding communities, they are pastoralists in nature and used to graze their large herds of cattle in the grasslands until the conservation area was gazette in 1951, it is Tanzania’s oldest and largest park covering an area space of approximately 14,763 square kilometers. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the great wildebeest Migration, thousands of millions of animal species cross into the national park in search of greener pastures annually.

Tourism activities in Serengeti National Park include game drives, which are the most done activity of the Savannah grasslands, through the well-distributed trails of the rich ecosystem you will go into the park in search of game, drives are conducted using 4*4-wheel cars to manage the terrain of the ecosystem these cars have been modified to fit the purpose of game viewing. Game drives are in sessions in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night times in search of wildlife, expect to see African elephants, African Buffaloes, cheetahs, lions, leopards, warthogs, oribi, jackal, hartebeests, Kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, hippos, Rhinos to mention a few. Night game drives are conducted in search of nocturnal species.

Wildebeest migration is one of the most eye-catching experiences of Serengeti National Park over 1 million herbivores (Zebras, Gazelles, wildebeests), migrate from Northern Tanzania into the Mara region of southern Kenya, and this movement attracts many travelers around the world, the run in the wild is intense to experience. Animals cross through rivers some of which are crocodile-infested it is a big survival time during the migration.the animals have to be so careful when crossing the river or else risk stamping on each other or getting drowned down the rivers.

Birdwatching in Serengeti National Park, there are over 500 bird species have been recorded in the national park, and about 11 species are endemics of the destination, in the wet season November and April, the region receives a lot of migratory species, while doing birding in the park look out for ostriches, vultures, black-headed heron, Kori bustard, African fish eagle, lilac breasted roller, Secretary bird, grey breasted spurfowl, silver bird, grey-backed fiscal, red-capped robin chat, Secretary bird to mention a few.

Hot air balloon safaris are one of the best ways to engage in safaris In the Serengeti National Park, tourists enjoy an Ariel view of the national park, and expect to see large herds of animal species, like elephants, antelopes, wildebeests roaming in the wilderness, the Balloon safaris take place throughout the park, guests have the chance to watch while the hot air balloons are being installed, the activity lasts for an hour.
