Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s best places to view wildlife. The National Park is listed among the oldest conservation areas of the country covering an area space of approximately 392 square kilometres, within the park, is a thin layer of rocks stretching from the mountain Kilimanjaro, these give a constant water supply to the park, the lush green open grassland is home to several animal species but best known for its huge population of long tusked African elephants. Wildlife in Amboseli National Park is seen when conducting tourism activities including game drives, which are the primary activity within the conservation area, these are conducted in the early morning, afternoon and evening times on open rooftop safari cars to enhance guest experience, game drives last for 2-3 hours in search of game, the Amboseli national park is one of the few places where doing night game drives is allowed. Birding in Amboseli is rewarding several birds can be sighted mostly on guided nature walks, the best time to go birding in the conservation area is during the wet season when the park receives migratory species.
Wildlife in Amboseli National Park can be seen any time of the year but best during the dry season between the months of December-February and June-September when the grasses are shorter and thinner which makes it viewing wild animals much simpler and animals tend to gather around water sources, the trails of the park are drier for tourism activities. The wet season is great too the park is mostly green and a fruiting season for birds, despite it being difficult to view animal species, it is more than possible to view animals.
